Project Manager – IT (Agile Delivery) Location: Canada Job Type: Contract Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate technology projects from initiation through implementation. This role combines Agile delivery leadership with hands-on project management, ensuring successful execution of IT initiatives while managing scope, resources, risks, issues, compliance requirements, and stakeholder expectations. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, product owners, and technology partners to deliver high-quality solutions that drive business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end planning, coordination, execution, and status reporting of Agile technology projects and programs.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Work closely with Product Owners to manage and prioritize product backlogs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivery timelines.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and project documentation.
- Identify, track, and communicate key project achievements, deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders, leadership teams, and project sponsors.
- Manage project resources, scope changes, change requests, and project priorities to maximize business value.
- Proactively identify, assess, mitigate, and resolve project risks, impediments, and delivery challenges.
- Review project requirements and user stories to ensure they are clearly defined, actionable, and aligned with business needs.
- Perform data analysis to support project planning, requirements validation, decision-making, and delivery tracking.
- Ensure project deliverables meet compliance, governance, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Promote Agile best practices, continuous improvement, collaboration, and high-performing team culture.
- Coach and support teams in Agile and Scrum methodologies while fostering accountability and delivery excellence.
- Coordinate with business, technology, operations, and vendor teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of solutions.
- Track project KPIs, delivery metrics, and performance indicators to measure project success and identify improvement opportunities.
- Maintain accurate project records in Jira, Confluence, and other project management systems. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing technology or business-focused projects from initiation through implementation.
- Minimum 3 years of Agile Project Management experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working within Agile and Scrum environments.
- Experience leading Agile ceremonies and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing project risks, issues, dependencies, action items, and change requests.
- Strong experience with stakeholder management, status reporting, and executive communications.
- Experience reviewing requirements, user stories, and supporting delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, and related project management tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within Financial Services, Banking, Credit Card, or Payment Processing environments.
- Knowledge of credit card operations and service delivery processes.
- Experience working within SAFe or Agile Release Train (ART) environments.
- Experience tracking and reporting project KPIs and delivery metrics.
- Experience with Tableau or other reporting and visualization tools.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
- Portuguese and/or Spanish language skills are considered an asset.
