**Hours of Work:**70 hours bi-weekly
**Shift Work Required:**No
**Range of Pay:**Group 7 - $28.04 to $32.82 per hour
The start date will follow the selection process.
Acriminal record checkis required for this position and will be requested by the Hiring Manager should you be the candidate of choice. Please do not submit your criminal record check with your application.
**Characteristic Duties:**Under the general supervision of a Social Services Program Manager.
- Respond to and resolve inquiries within preset parameters. Provide program information and assistance to clients, the general public and staff; screen inquiries and direct to appropriate section as required.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to staff; schedule and arrange meetings and appointments.
- Complete, review, and process forms, documents, reports, and files including recommending the allocation of benefits in accordance with established procedures (e.g., drug cards, dental, vision, affidavits, FRO reimbursements).
- Distribute and receive information to and from other CGS departments and community agencies.
- Verify and process income statements.
- Maintain databases and compile statistical information. Maintain a BF (bring forward) filing system to ensure adherence to timelines and procedures.
- Act as a resource person for staff and liaison with outside agencies as required.
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’s Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.
- Over one (1) and up to two and one-half (2½) years of experience in a social services agency, including client involvement.
- Satisfactory keyboarding skills (minimum 40 words per minute).
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to serve the public in a courteous and effective manner.
- Demonstrate skills related to computer software and administrative systems in a Windows environment (e.g., file maintenance, word processing, spreadsheet applications, information input and retrieval).
- Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
- French verbal and written skills an asset.
- Satisfactory health, attendance, and former employment history.
- Provide, at own cost, a Criminal Record Check.
- Physical capability to operate a vehicle safely, possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record will be considered an asset.

Development opportunity range of pay: $27.20 to $31.98 per hour. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced range until the minimum qualifications have been met.
