Job Description
The Project Manager, RBS Operations & Business Support, works closely with SGS businesses at global, regional and local levels to interpret, design, develop and implement their Global Business Support (GBS) projects. They provide proactive oversight and guidance to GBS centers on the most appropriate, effective and successful support operations aligned to business needs. They also contribute to continuous improvements to GBS efficiencies and automation.

Establishes close alliances and working relationships with GBS operations centers and all business lines (Natural Resources, Instruments & Equipment, Health & Nutrition, and Connectivity & Products).

Works with global, regional and local business managers to understand their needs and goals in setting up remote staff support from a GBS location

Assists with the development and documentation of new workflows, headcount estimates, training materials and other project plan materials in preparation to establish a new team in GBS

Ensures all new GBS implementations remain compliant with Affiliate regulatory requirements

Coordinates Affiliate and GBS resources required to implement and manage the plan

Monitors implementation timelines and adherence, as well as post-implementation success.

Develops and tracks GBS performance via KPIs recorded at the GBS location(s) or extracted from affiliate systems

Routinely reviews GBS operations to ensure continued alignment with affiliate needs, troubleshooting areas of non-performance as needed and providing guidance on resolutions as well as best practices

Identifies and raises opportunities for process and efficiency improvements, especially via IT systems, automation and AI; collaborates in the solution designs as well as potentially leading the development project as assigned

Participates in special projects as required

Performs other duties as assigned

Develops trust by providing timely responses to all inquiries.

Be knowledgeable and compliant with SGS procedures and standards; complies with all SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University; technical field of study preferred or equivalent experience
- Requiring B2+ fluency in English, with good oral and written communications skills to work effectively and collaborate internally, multilingual capability a plus
- 5+ years of project management or consulting experience.
- At least 2 years technical or operational experience working in an area related to current service offerings, especially in a laboratory environment
- Experience with IT data and/or systems management a plus
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
- Ability to organize, analyze and report data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization
- Able to meet commitments made to yourself and others, and acknowledge and accept accountability
- Sets high standard of excellence to ensure quality assurance in every aspect of work performed
Travel
- Up to 50% in the US and Canada

Salary - $80,000-$90,000/year CAD
