Settlement Analyst – Trading Finance 📍 Calgary, AB (Hybrid) 💼 6-Month Contract (Strong potential to convert to permanent) 💰 $34–$40/hour
The Opportunity We’re looking for a detail-oriented Settlement Analyst to support a growing energy trading function. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and cash flow related to trading activities across power, natural gas, and environmental markets. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to ongoing process improvements in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What You’ll Do Support month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and invoicing/payment activities Reconcile trading transactions and analyze financial results Coordinate data between counterparties, ISOs, and internal teams (Finance, Trading, Risk, IT, Legal) Work with ETRM and financial systems to execute daily/monthly activities Contribute to process improvements and new business initiatives Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls (e.g., SOX) Maintain accurate documentation and respond to stakeholder inquiries
What You Bring Degree or diploma in Accounting, Business, or related field (CPA/CFA in progress is an asset) 3–5 years of settlements or accounting experience (energy trading experience preferred) Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets Experience with systems like Allegro, TriplePoint, SAP, or Oracle is an asset Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Working Conditions Hybrid work model (Calgary-based) Occasional overtime during peak periods
