This role will work with our Ontario & Atlantic Family Office team based out of Toronto. The incumbent will deliver a suite of family governance and dynamics services, building from their designation as a Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA), working closely with our client families. They will do so in partnership with colleagues in tax, law, wealth, philanthropy and business advisory.

What you will do

  • Initiate client engagements by developing project scope, including detailed, task-level work plans and resource, time, and cost estimates, required to successfully partner with a family on their governance and dynamics issues.

  • Develop high impact client engagement materials, help coordinate client meetings, lead one-on-one interviews with family members and draft themes and recommendation reports. , In addition, prepare detailed family meeting minutes along with quarterly and annual client progress reports .

  • Support the Family Advisory client team in conducting research and development of bespoke assessments, playbooks, methodologies, on topics such as skills and capabilities, leadership development, family and business strategy, board advisory and succession planning.

  • Act as the project support for next generation strategic initiatives and Family Office events/webinars.

  • Support the proposal process with the Family Office team and other KPMG Partners/subject matter experts.

  • Maintain client prospect lists, pipeline reports and other business development/leadership update reports in collaboration with the Family Office Practice Manager.

  • Maintain knowledge about leading practices in the Family Office space, including tools and technologies, while assisting the Family Office leaders in positioning the practice as thought leaders in a very targeted client segment.

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree. This may include an undergraduate or graduate degree in Management/Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Social Sciences, Industrial Relations
  • Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) designation, from Family Enterprise Canada; or other similar designation (for consideration)
  • Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills; along with exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Project management and consulting experience either within a formal consulting firm or delivering for internal stakeholders
  • Ability to conduct research and synthesize data into meaningful insights for the client
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior-level business partners. Presenting to all levels of our Family Office team as well as clients and their families, both in person and remotely/virtually.
  • Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
