Job Description External Title: Director, Human Resources Business Partner

Location: US or Canada – Remote

Reports to: Chief People Officer

Position Summary The Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a member of the HR leadership team, responsible for executing people strategies in North America that enable business growth, innovation, and operational excellence. This role reports directly to the Chief People Officer and partners with senior executives and cross-functional leaders to drive organizational effectiveness, talent development, and deliver data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, aligning HR initiatives with business priorities and long-term goals.
  • Lead workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning efforts to ensure future readiness and scalability.
  • Drive change management strategies for M&A integration, restructuring, and transformation initiatives.
  • Champion a high-performance culture through leadership development, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Oversee complex employee relations matters, ensuring resolution aligns with company values and legal compliance.
  • Leverage data and analytics to inform talent decisions, identify trends, and measure the impact of HR programs.
  • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs) in Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development to deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Influence and guide compensation decisions, promotions, and internal mobility to support employee growth and development.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance on employment law matters as needed
  • Leading special projects that align people strategies with business objectives
  • Mentor and develop HR team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience, including 7+ years in a senior HRBP or HR leadership role.
  • Industry experience in Data Analytics, Technology, or Automotive sectors preferred.
  • Proven success partnering with C-suite executives and partnering on strategic HR initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, CHRP) preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate organizational needs into actionable HR strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of employment law, compliance, and risk mitigation across North America.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Previous management experience preferred
