SUMMARY – Accounts Receivable & Cash Applications Clerk; Full-Time
Shift: Monday to Friday (08:00-16:40)
TransX Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Receivable & Cash Applications Clerk to join our Business Automation & Customer Experience team in Winnipeg. Reporting to the Cash Applications Supervisor, this position is responsible for processing customer payments, ensuring record accuracy, and supporting the accounting team with day-to-day financial tasks.
This position is expected to align with the TransX Core Values for Teamwork, Safety, Innovation, Accountability, Integrity, and Respect. The role is critical to the business as it ensures the smooth flow of work within the accounting team by maintaining organized payment records and resolving discrepancies promptly.
KEY ACTIVITIES
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Payment Posting & Processing: Posting and applying daily remittances and entering details into the accounting system.
- Unapplied Payments Management: Investigating unapplied payments, preparing weekly reports, and reducing unapplied balances through reconciliation.
- Adjustments & Corrections: Processing credits, debits, voids, and rebills while following audit requirements.
- Customer & Auditor Support: Responding to inquiries from auditors and customers and providing supporting documentation for account reviews.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconciling daily and monthly bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining organized, audit-ready AR files through scanning and labeling deposit documents.
- Month-End Support: Compiling and verifying AR data for monthly closing and financial reporting.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Education
- High School Diploma
- Basic knowledge of banking principles would be an asset
Experience
- 1-3 years’ experience in accounts receivable, banking, or finance
- Experience in the trucking industry is an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and financial software
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
Key Competencies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks with minimal supervision
- Positive attitude and ability to collaborate within a team environment
