Duration: Approx. March-September 2026 (Non-Permanent)

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Position Purpose: The Seasonal Guest Relations is responsible for taking great care of our guests, providing an exceptional customer focused entry and exit experience and assisting them with any needs that arise before, during or after their visit including initial service recovery. This position will assist and provide support in implementing the Strategic Plan.

Core Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a warm welcome and smooth ticketing purchase and redemption experience for guests and members using a POS system, self-serve ticket scanners and mobile sales devices.
  • Providing excellent customer service to all Zoo guests and Members in person as well as by phone and email.
  • Perform queue management, guest ambassador and exit gate duties.
  • Ticket scanning for all Members and guests entering the Zoo.
  • Process self-guided group bookings for schools and general groups.
  • Proactively ensure guests & members are aware of expectations during visit, promoting on-site events and upselling Zoo activities.
  • Ensure an efficient parking experience including selling or checking parking tickets in the lot.
  • Cash handling and Credit/Debit on-site ticket sales, cash and coupon reconciliation.
  • Build awareness of the Toronto Zoo’s mission through engaging interactions with guests and members.
  • Obtain guest & member feedback by completing on-site surveys.
  • Follows all policies and branch instructions.
  • Attends appropriate training as required.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have customer service experience.
  • Sales and cash handling experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must ensure all applicable licenses and certificates remain valid and in good standing. Copies of licenses and certificates to be provided at time of hire and upon renewal.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, along with strong communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and WHMIS legislation an asset.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of computerized programs and systems including point of sales systems, database, etc.
  • Must be able to work weekends, shifts and holidays as scheduled.
  • Must be able to deal with staff and public in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Capable of meeting the physical requirements of the position.
