Scope of Role

General Warehouse duties include:

  • Picking orders from computerized handheld scanner

  • Receiving shipments using computerized handheld scanner

  • Driving forklift or other Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV)

  • Packing orders through use of courier software

  • Follow strict safety procedures

  • All other duties as assigned

  • Reports to Supervisor

Required Skills

  • Must demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated to meet schedules and deadlines

  • Ability to pick orders and receive accurately to meet set productivity standards

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with others

  • Some heavy lifting required

Responsibility

  • Associates will be responsible for achieving and maintaining their own productivity
  • Associates will also proactively report any situation or activity preventing their adherence to the standard
    • Any exceptions or adjustments made due to accommodations; special projects, or assignments must be approved by the DC Manager
  • Promote and maintain high standards of attendance
  • Associates will be responsible for the cleanliness of the DC and assigned specific areas to maintain
  • Associates must:
    • maintain a respectful workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and violence

    • participate in all safety training courses

    • if experienced or witnessed – report any unsafe practices, injuries, incidents, near misses, or hazardous situations to a Joint Health and Safety Team member and/or management

    • maintain valid certification/license to operate PIVs

Productivity – Receivers and Pickers

  • Associates must maintain 95% productivity or greater per week

  • Associates who fall below 80% productivity (or after eight weeks for a new hire) may be required to fully retrain on the standard work procedures with a trainer for a minimum of 2-5 days – the DC Manager will approve all retraining

  • Errors are recorded and reviewed monthly – the corporate standard is 0.025%

  • Any associate above the standard will be documented and addressed through coaching and if necessary, discipline for not maintaining the minimum standard

Physical Demands Analysis (PDA)

  • Standing frequently > 60 minutes

  • Push/Pull frequently < 10 kg

  • Walking frequently > 60 minutes

  • Climbing stairs/ladders (washrooms on second level)

  • Kneeling/Crouching > 60 minutes

  • Reaching at shoulder height

  • Lifting < 25 kg

  • Twisting – WEST (Wrist, Elbow, Shoulder, Torso) > 60 minutes
