The Sourcing Specialist - Capital & MRO will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and day-to-day purchasing and playing a support role for indirect spend for all facilities within J. D. Irving Moncton-based companies. These are fast-paced manufacturing facilities and require an individual capable of working closely with internal customers including engineering, warehousing, manufacturing sites, storages and farms.

• Develop supplier strategies and maintain strong supplier relationships while performing all duties and responsibilities within established procedures and standards of ethical conduct. Understand all aspects of supplier business and supply chain, including cost, key business drivers, and opportunities for business process optimization.

• Maintain awareness of market conditions to determine capability, availability of services, and price benchmarking for potential future suppliers. Regularly obtain competitive quotes as a means of identifying cost reduction opportunities and doing market validations of current arrangements.

• Perform the purchasing functions including preparation of supply agreement drafts and documents. Perform supplier performance reviews with coworkers utilizing the standard supplier evaluation tools and report supplier performance to management as required.

• Document and keep current supply agreements through use of the standard supply contract; ensure internal and supplier compliance to JD Irving expectations; provide monthly reporting as required.

• University Degree in Business or a related field

• 2 - 5 years of progressive procurement experience

• CIPS, SCMP certified, ISM

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Excellent time management

• Working knowledge of procurement policies, processes, and procedures

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and be a team player.
