What’s the job:

The Accounts Payable Specialist (Funding) is responsible for processing and posting vendor invoices for two legal entities in USD and CAD, and supporting the Finance Department with other value-added tasks as required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Process daily Canadian and US Funding payments on a timely basis while ensuring accuracy
  • Record payments into the accounting system and reconcile any variances between Tableau and the inventory report
  • Coordinate with external departments to resolve payment variances or vendor onboarding issues
  • Review the outstanding down payments report on a weekly basis and follow up as necessary
  • Ensure organization of documents by maintaining filing system
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for period ends or as needed
  • Assist with regular AP during busy periods
  • Assist with external audits as required
  • Perform other job-related duties as required to meet organizational needs.

What you bring:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts payable
  • Comfortable using technology and interested in improving processes, with a willingness to support efforts to automate funding workflows and increase efficiency.
  • A strong sense of integrity, professionalism and a results-oriented attitude to enhance efficiency, and contribute to overall organizational success
  • Works well under pressure to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines within short time constraints
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to regularly interact with team members and management to provide or obtain related information
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks, likely with competing priorities
  • Strong decision making, communication (both verbal and written), and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute effectively within a team environment
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office products
  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate/diploma in accounting or finance is an asset
