Job Description Senior Counsel - Health & Regulatory Location: Mississauga, ON
Our client, one of the largest retail companies in the world, is seeking a Senior Counsel to join their Privacy, Health, and Regulatory Division. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned legal professional to work on high-impact matters within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal advice on health sector matters, with a particular focus on pharmacy operations, drug regulations, and other health regulatory issues.
- Draft, negotiate, and review agreements, policies, and other regulatory documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and best practices.
- Advise business units on strategies and courses of action related to health and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee privacy-related matters, including employee data management, data incident response, and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
- Manage relationships with external counsel to ensure effective handling of complex legal matters.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various business units to address regulatory challenges and provide day-to-day legal support.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of post-call experience (up to 10 years preferred) in health law, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in pharmacy operations, drug regulations, and health-related legal frameworks.
- Experience drafting policies and advising businesses on regulatory strategies.
- Familiarity with privacy law matters such as employee data management and incident response is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage external counsel effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to provide clear and actionable legal advice to non-legal stakeholders.
Compensation Package:

Competitive base salary range: $160K-$180K , plus:
-
A performance-based bonus structure.

A stock grant plan , which combined with the bonus can proportionately increase total compensation by approximately 60% of base salary .
