PURPOSE: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for achieving strategic, financial and operating objectives, as approved by the Board of Directors ensuring the organization operates in accordance with the policies and strategic plan established by the Board.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for achieving strategic, financial, and operating objectives, as approved by the Board of Directors and for ensuring the organization operates in accordance with the policies and strategic plan established by the Board. In fulfilling this mandate, the CEO will provide strong and effective leadership to staff and develop strong and effective relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry leaders, and provincial and federal government officials.
The CEO requires a track record of positive results in a senior role. Although an asset, forest industry experience is not a requirement. Experience in an organization that has demonstrated exceptional risk and injury management results would be a strong attribute. The CEO will be an individual able to engage and work with all levels of the industry to analyze the next steps towards injury reduction, and then effectively support the parties to deliver results.

The BC Forest Safety Council(BCFSC) is the Health and Safety Association for BC's forestry industry. We have been serving industry since 2004 with a vision to see every forestry worker goes home safe - every day.
BCFSC is dedicated to helping reduce the potential for forestry worker injuries and fatalities in BC. We work alongside industry experts and advisory committees to help keep workers safe and help companies build a strong safety culture.
BCFSC develops and provides resources, information, education and training for forest harvesting, sawmills and wood pellet manufacturing throughout BC.
Our goal is to ensure safety remains a top priority in all forestry work places by offering: • SAFE Companies Certification • Faller Certification • In-field safety advice • Safety training courses • Auditing & consultation services • Resources & safety planning tools
