YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a Manager, People Experience who’s passionate about creating a workplace where people genuinely want to be and where they can do their best work. In this role, you’ll own the day-to-day experience of our head office while helping shape how employees connect to the company across both office and job site environments. From the moment someone walks through the door to how they experience key milestones, programs, and events - you’ll play a central role in bringing our culture to life in a way that’s practical, inclusive, and authentic for our business.

This is a hands-on, highly visible role that blends leadership with execution. As part of our People & Talent leadership team, you’ll lead a small team, oversee office operations and facilities, and bring thoughtful, people-first ideas to life. You’ll also help strengthen the connection between our office and site teams, ensuring a consistent and meaningful employee experience regardless of where they’re located. While this role is mainly focused on the Vancouver head office, there will be growth into other markets, including the US, helping to standardize People Experience across all locations and maintain what makes our culture unique as we expand.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Experience

  • Lead the strategy, planning and execution of employee experiences, programs and events, including pitching new ideas for future people experience programs and initiatives
  • Create a head office environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and supports people doing their best work
  • Lead practical wellness, engagement, and inclusion initiatives that reflect the realities of a construction workforce (e.g., mental health, women in construction, cultural events)
  • Identify employee swag that makes people proud to showcase our company brand, resonate across our head office and sites and work with Brand/Comm’s to ensure items align to our culture
  • Strengthen connections between head office and site teams through consistent touchpoints, including site visits, and leverage internal communications to reinforce employee experience programs and initiatives
  • Support community engagement initiatives and volunteer opportunities that connect employees and strengthen community involvement
  • Gather employee feedback and stay current on workplace trends to continuously enhance and improve the overall employee experience
  • Manage the overall People Experience budget, including events, office operations and facilities

Events

  • Plan and deliver internal events including the annual holiday party, leadership summits, community engagement and employee and site milestone events
  • Lead recurring employee engagement initiatives such as Breakfast Club, socials and birthday/work anniversary celebrations
  • Support and grow inclusive events, including Women in Construction initiatives and culturally meaningful celebrations across the organization
  • Partner cross-functionally with People & Talent and Operations to execute thoughtful, high-quality events and employee experiences
  • Host events that align with our company culture, values and that resonate with our business
  • Manage vendors, venues, timelines, and event execution from planning through post-event follow-up

Office Operations & Facilities

  • Oversee office and facilities operations, including space planning, supplies, vendors, and day-to-day logistics
  • Plan for growth and change, adapting the workspace as the business evolves
  • Lead and support the People Experience Coordinator (Reception) to create a professional, welcoming environment and strong service standards and coverage

Skills & Experience

  • 4-5 years of experience in office operations, workplace experience, facilities, events management or a similar role
  • Proven experience leading or supporting office operations, including facilities, vendors, and day-to-day workplace logistics
  • Experience planning and delivering internal events and employee initiatives from strategy through to execution
  • Positive, team-first mindset, energized by working with others
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support others, with experience managing or mentoring team members (direct or indirect)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Practical problem-solver who can anticipate issues and respond quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Comfortable working across both office and site-based teams, with an understanding of the realities of a construction environment
  • Experience contributing to inclusive workplace initiatives (e.g., cultural awareness) is an asset.

Mission: Value a client’s dollars as if they were your own. Create work you’re proud of. And remember that humility goes a long way. It's these principles that inspire Axiom as it continues to create its own legacy of successful projects.

THINK LIKE A DEVELOPER. Long-term relationships with developer clients have taught us to be forward-thinking and to make decisions with two things in mind: improving every building’s overall functionality and respecting our clients’ bottom line.

GREAT WORK. NO COMPROMISES. We’re committed to partnering with our clients to ensure things turn out exactly the way they want them – the first time – without cutting corners. Ask anyone who’s worked with Axiom and they’ll say the same thing.

KEEP OUR WORD. ALWAYS. In the early days, our contracts were sealed with little more than a handshake – the same goes today. Axiom’s reputation for honesty and fair dealing is well deserved, and we work hard every day to maintain that.
