Deveraux Apartment Communities has been a comprehensive, professional property management firm since 2011. It presently manages over 6100 multi-family apartment units in Regina, Moose Jaw, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and NOW Calgary. As aLandscape Operator, you will report directly to the Facilities Manager. The role involves maintaining and managing landscaping tools and equipment, ensuring their safe use, and reporting any deficiencies.

What you bring...
- Preferred qualifications include a minimum of two years of experience as an Operator.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record and a minimum of 10 years of driving experience (driver’s abstract and letter of experience required upon hiring).
- Valid skid steer certification preferred; candidates must demonstrate a strong willingness to complete a skid steer course if not currently certified.
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime, is required.
- Proficiency in both verbal and written English is essential.
- Demonstrated dedication to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Strong attention to detail is a must.
- Proficiency in operating equipment such as Aerators, Power Rakes, Power washers, line painting tools, and various landscaping hand tools.
- Prior experience with machine operation, particularly with bobcats and skid steers, is considered an asset. Training may be offered for suitable candidates.
- Ability to troubleshoot and take ownership of actions and decisions, seeing them through to resolution.
- Willingness and ability to travel between multiple work sites across Edmonton and the surrounding area.
- Access to a reliable vehicle is an asset.
- Physical capability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds is necessary.
You will...
- Preserve and manage small equipment and tools relevant to landscaping, ensuring that they are used safely in their intended manner; report any breakages or deficiencies in equipment.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the property and grounds in alignment with Deveraux Apartment Community Standards.
- Engage in physically demanding tasks consistently under the overall guidance of the Facilities Manager to maintain the appearance of all property grounds.
- Regularly service and maintain all equipment, tools, and cleaning apparatus.
- Ensure sufficient stocks of necessary materials for the work and advise the Facilities Manager of any requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive lawn and grounds maintenance, including litter-picking, mowing, trimming, fertilizing, top-dressing, weed spraying, weed removal, and overseeing irrigation systems (when services are provided by third-party vendors).
- Maintain dog waste stations year-round, including waste removal and replenishment of disposal bags in both summer and winter conditions.
- Execute snow removal and operate machinery as required (such as powered blowers, brushes, skid-steers, manual shoveling, etc.), and advise management on the efficacy of arrangements, particularly regarding snow piling and removal.
- Safely transport skid steers from site to site using company trucks and trailers.
- Plan and carry out minor repairs and the replacement of sod, trees, shrubs, and other landscaping components.
- Tackle tasks including lot cleaning, line painting, pressure-washing, graffiti removal/paint-over, sanding, and shoveling.
- Provide labor in support of site maintenance work, including clearing abandoned goods from suites, moving scrap or waste to landfill/transfer stations, etc.
- Fulfill additional assignments as delegated by the Facilities Manager.
Additional Information
Please note that this role will require the selected candidate to have availability to work some evenings and weekends.
