Temporary Full-time

The Corporate Services Department – Information Technology Division is looking for a temporary full-time Administrative Coordinator 1 for approximately one year.
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, you will provide administrative support to senior staff across the department. You will coordinate administrative activities which include; coordinating and finalizing reports and presentations for Council and related meetings, assembling and analyzing reports, project materials, records, and contracts; handling public inquiries; coordinating meetings, assembling meeting agendas and recording meeting minutes when needed.
You will have considerable related work experience in an administration role, supplemented by business administration courses, with a preference for a Certificate in Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You will also have knowledge of the departmental administrative functions, rules, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to the work performed as well as the ability to make decisions in accordance with applicable departmental policies and procedures. Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required along with the ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public. You will also have a net keyboarding speed of 50 wpm and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.
For temporary full-time positions of eight (8) months or longer, a City employee who is successful on the posting will have the right to revert to their former position.
Salary:
$34.63 to $40.74 per hour
(Pay Grade 19 – January 2024 rates)
This position has a pay structure with five steps, which increase annually.
Hours of Work:
The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
