About the role

This position focuses on organizational excellence, by ensuring SIGA's employees are paid accurately and promptly.

Processing pay information for transmission. Reconciling a wide range of accounts and data. Ensuring data integrity through cross-checking and auditing others work. Investigating and developing actions plans to resolve payroll discrepancies. Responding to inquiries on a wide variety of payroll-related issues. Handling technical, policy, and process issues in the absence of the Payroll Manager. Gathering and reviewing payroll data. Working as a team to handle periodic peaks in work. Completing other tasks as required, to ensure employees are paid accurately and in a timely manner.

Preference will be given to applicants who have completed, or are currently enrolled in, the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Canada designation or the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification. A combination of relevant education, training and or experience may be considered. Previous experience working with employee Payroll, Benefits and/or Accounting software. Previous experience working with large, enterprise systems such as JD Edwards would be an asset. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
