About the Role:
Global Regina is seeking a full-time Writer/Producer to join our dynamic newsroom.
Reporting to the Provincial Executive Producer, you will primarily support weekday evening newscasts, with flexibility to work early in the mornings and weekends as required.
This role is ideal for a strong storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality news content.
You will contribute by:

Write and produce news content for a variety of newscasts and platforms.
-
Collaborate closely with the production team to deliver compelling, high-quality broadcasts.
-
Create and publish digital content, including website articles and social media posts.
-
Partner with field crews to ensure the strongest stories make it to air.
-
Identify, coordinate, and book guests for Global News programming.
-
Use creativity to enhance storytelling through graphics and visual elements.
-
Exercise strong editorial judgment and make quick decisions under pressure.
-
Source, develop, and produce stories relevant to audiences across the province.
-
Liaise with other markets to support content sharing, interviews, and requests.
-
Stay current on local and national news and emerging stories.
-
Monitor news sources, including wires, feeds, and social media channels.
-
Uphold Global News’ high editorial and production standards.
-
Perform other duties as required.
Skills and experience you will bring:
-
Post-secondary education in broadcast journalism, communications, or a related field
-
Minimum 1 year of experience producing television newscasts.
-
Strong writing, organizational, and time management skills
-
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
-
A collaborative mindset and proven ability to work well within a team.
-
Strong news judgment and attention to detail
-
Positive attitude and adaptability
-
Valid driver’s license
