We are currently seeking a full-time Supply Chain Planner****to join our team.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Planner works closely with the Supply Chain Manager and the Director, Supply Chain and Customer Service in managing all activities related to monitoring and controlling the inventory of products purchased from external vendors on a national basis. The Supply Chain Planner works closely with various parties including product suppliers, customs brokers, transportation and logistics providers, as well as internal departments such as Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Customer Service, to ensure that all external and internal customer needs are met.

The Supply Chain Planner completes their responsibilities in accordance with corporate and department policies and procedures as well as the department strategic plan. The Planner, Supply Chain fosters effective working relationships with other team members and throughout the organization.

The Planner, Supply Chain is the primary contact for the product suppliers in their product portfolio, and establishes, maintains and develops relationships with key supplier personnel.

DEMAND PLANNING AND PURCHASING

  • Manages forecasting and procurement activities for suppliers including demand forecasts, purchasing, production plan review, expediting and corrective actions, to ensure adequate supply is maintained
  • Maintains accurate, up to date demand forecasts for all products and suppliers in either APO or spreadsheet-based models, and supply chain agreements where applicable
  • Fosters strong relationships with key supplier personnel such as Supply Managers, Production Planners, Warehouse and Logistics Managers, functioning as primary contact for vendor rating and correction/development/improvement activities
  • Chairs periodic conference calls with key supplier personnel ensuring that the company's requirements are prioritized correctly
  • Executes planning and purchasing activities in accordance with plans and policies to ensure optimal inventory and service levels while minimizing cost
  • Continuously monitors purchasing/planning parameters and recommends improvements to support service and inventory level targets

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Manages transportation logistics, quotes, freight negotiations, determining transportation methods, (sea, rail, truck, air)
  • Issues/updates routing guides to suppliers and outlines required transit conditions to freight forwarders and carriers (i.e., ambient, pharma, refrigerated services) for each shipping lane
  • Ensures accuracy of import paperwork including values and tariff classifications
  • Identifies logistical opportunities, helps to evaluate alternatives, creates and executes measurable solutions to support business requirements
  • Gathers, reviews and summarizes data for transportation reports
  • Ensures company and government standards and requirements are met by all suppliers, carriers and freight forwarding agencies
  • Possesses and maintains a solid working knowledge of Harmonization Codes, INCOTERMS, NAFTA, cross-border compliance and other international shipping documentation and Processes

GENERAL

  • Maintains and distributes various departmental reports; seeks out and incorporates
  • recommended improvements
  • Chairs departmental or cross-functional meetings as assigned, writes and distributes accurate minutes
  • Develops and updates SOPs related to Supply Chain policies and procedures
  • Provides cross-functional support and effective communication with other teams/departments
  • Provides timely, courteous and informative responses to sales and customer service inquiries

RELATIONS WITH OTHERS

  • Internally there is interaction with staff and management of all local and regional internal departments including but not limited to: Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Vigilance and Scientific Affairs as applicable
  • Externally there is interaction with warehouses, international and domestic suppliers, transportation/ logistics providers, customs agencies and brokers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management preferably in a pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and SAP
