Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.
The Director of Clinical Informatics and Digital Health is currently seeking a Full Time Clinical Informatics Analyst. The purpose of the position is to facilitate the design, implementation, optimization and adoption of clinical informatics initiatives by working collaboratively with clinical programs,s, technical experts and/or vendors as required. Using critical and creative thinking the Clinical Informatics Analyst will analyze, prioritize and translate user needs and requests related to the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 500 Church Street, Penetanguishene, ON.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
-Support the implementation of the Electronic Health Record by defining customer requirements, workflow and process analysis, project communications, unit and integrated design testing, implementation and go live support. -Provide leadership and subject-matter expertise to working groups responsible for clinical and/or business process workflow re-design and configures the outcomes within the Electronic Health Record solution in order to support and enhance patient care and processes. Champion the use of evidence-based best practices and outcome measurement in the Electronic Health Record. -Develop training plans, training materials in a variety of mediums and other electronic health record-related supporting documentation; understands and applies the principles of adult education while providing training to stakeholders. -Act as a key change agent and Electronic Health Record champion in order to facilitate implementation and adoption of new processes and/or clinical standards as well as continuous improvement and optimization; collaboratively working with organizational stakeholders and services to operationalize and sustain the effective integration of the electronic health record into clinical practice and administrative/business processes; act as an advocate for the use of technology and health information to improve clinical processes and the seamless integration of technology into the day-to-day work of front line clinicians. -Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the health informatics industry, trends and health care standards; develop awareness, commitment and acceptance of emerging and innovative technologies and systems that support excellence in the delivery of care. -Develop, implement and monitor standards for service and performance; evaluate and effects changes as needed to improve services, simplify workflow ensuring that quality, clinical and regulatory standards are met; use project management, process and quality improvement and change management
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
-Post-secondary education in clinical, health science, information technology and or health informatics required. -Registered member of a regulated health professional college with health informatics experience required. -1-3 years of progressive clinical and/or health informatics experience, preferably including implementing a major clinical application or large project, redesigning clinical processes and/or business processes to improve patient care and stakeholder workflow and applying change management and project management methodologies in a project setting or while redesigning an existing clinical or business process required. -Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and experience with workflow-process mapping, best practice, evidence-based and industry standards in order to ensure applications respond effectively to stakeholder needs. -Current theory and practice in relation to clinical operations and concepts in order to operationalize the implementation of Electronic Health Records applications. -Needs assessment and analysis methodologies in order to identify, resolve and configure application requirements to respond to work processes. -Project management, quality improvement and change management methodologies. -Analytical thinking skills to gather information and analyze clinical user requirements, workflow on client programs, services, goals and objectives in order to create effective Electronic Health Record system. -Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results -Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, interpersonal and organizational skills -Proven written and verbal communication skills -Proven ability to adapt readily to change and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude -Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values (Caring, Respect, Accountability, Innovation) -Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills.
