About the role
Junior Accountant – 12-Month Contract (Fully Onsite) Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their team for an initial 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional who is working toward a professional designation and is eager to develop their accounting skills within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions Prepare and post journal entries Perform bank and account reconciliations Assist with month-end close activities Investigate and resolve discrepancies and outstanding items Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Support reporting and ad hoc analysis as required Assist with process improvements and special projects Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Working toward a CPA or other accounting designation is strongly preferred 3+ years of accounting experience, including exposure to AP, AR, reconciliations, and journal entries Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUp,Formulas and data manipulation Dashboard creation and reporting experience is considered an asset Experience with an ERP system is an asset Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities
