About The Role Are you passionate about transforming data into insight and action? Join Trench Canada Coils as a Business Intelligence Intern in our Order Management and Logistics team. In this role, you will apply your technical and analytical skills to support decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement across our order lifecycle. You’ll work closely with a cross-functional team and take ownership of dashboards, performance tracking tools, and reporting automation—helping us deliver customer orders faster, more accurately, and with greater transparency.
Your Tasks:
- Design and build dynamic dashboards (using Power BI, Tableau, or Excel) to visualize key performance indicators such as order cycle time, backlog health, delivery adherence, and team workload.
- Extract and manipulate data from Databricks, SQL databases, and SAP to feed dashboards and reports.
- Automate processes and help transition manual trackers to digital tools.
- Analyze data to identify bottlenecks, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities within the order-to-delivery process.
- Participate in operational excellence projects focused on standardization, root-cause analysis, and performance tracking.
- Document processes, KPIs, and improvements in a clear, structured manner.
- Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders in support of data-driven decisions.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a post-secondary education in Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
- Experience creating dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel (pivot tables, slicers, lookups).
- Comfortable writing SQL queries and working with Databricks or similar data lake environments.
- Strong understanding of data structures, KPIs, and operational metrics.
- Proactive, analytical mindset: you’re driven to solve problems and make things better.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, logistics, and customer service teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with business consulting projects, case competitions, or operational improvement initiatives is considered a strong asset.
