As part of the Brand & Marketing Services department, we design and deliver impactful meetings, conferences, and special events across the globe for our Retail, Retirement, and Institutional businesses.

Role Summary We’re seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Event Planner to join our fast-paced team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on juggling multiple priorities, managing complex logistics, and delivering exceptional event experiences. You’ll be responsible for leading the end-to-end planning and execution of meetings, conferences, and special events across North America, supporting our Retail, Retirement, and Institutional businesses.
Success in this role requires strong project management skills, the ability to think outside the box, and a passion for creating memorable, high-impact experiences. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, manage budgets, and ensure every detail aligns with business goals and brand standards. Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales Leaders and Business Liaisons to assess event needs, recommend venues, themes, and promotional strategies.
- Lead project teams and ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
- Build and manage event registration and websites using Cvent; coordinate speaker logistics.
- Develop detailed itineraries and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare hotel reports, manifests, attendee communications, and information kits.
- Ensure all event deliverables are accurate, timely, and within budget.
- Track and manage event budgets; collaborate with Finance on forecasting.
- Drive continuous improvement and uphold high standards of quality.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure brand consistency and excellence.
- Independently manage large-scale events.
- Foster strong relationships across departments and business units.
- Maintain a positive and professional work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5-10 years of experience in event planning or hospitality.
- Experience in financial services or corporate event planning is preferred.
- CMP designation preferred.
- Proficiency in Cvent (certification a plus).
- Strong skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to learn new tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual in French is an asset.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Team-oriented with a commitment to excellence and flexibility.
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Creative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Hospitality industry knowledge and experience helpful

Working Arrangement Hybrid
Salary range is expected to be between $86,250.00 CAD - $155,250.00 CAD
