Sales - Product Launch Manager

The Product Launch Manager plays a critical and central role at Cosmetica in ensuring successful execution of projects and timely launches of products in the market for our customers, as well as internal Product Development innovation projects. In this role you will manage stakeholder engagement and cross functional collaboration.
Key Accountabilities New Product Development
- Drive the new product development cycle using our Stage Gate System, starting with discovery, development, testing and validation, launch, and post launch review through collaboration with external partners and internal stakeholders, inclusive of turnkey and over the counter (OTC) products
- Lead the project management process of internal Product Development innovation boxes, including facilitating weekly project reviews that include all required cross-functional departments such as Marketing & PD, Packaging Development, R&I, Regulatory, TRG, etc.
- Develop project scope ensuring all critical parameters are captured and aligned with the customer.
- Guide the cross-functional project team to achieve target costs, timelines and product attributes to support project conversion.
- Develop project plans that cover scope, time, cost, resources, communication, acquisitions, quality, risk management, stakeholder management and integration.
- Maintain up to date project timelines and project action tracker keeping the BDEs and other key stakeholders informed.
- Accountable for overall project execution, including critical decision-making as required.
- Produce and maintain accurate data and records related to the projects.
Customer and Stakeholder Management
- Responsible to ensure that effective and efficient communication is established and maintained between the customer and all internal functions, keeping the project on the agreed timeline.
- Ensure all customer-facing internal teams provided consistent and excellent customer service.
- Complete detailed tracking and maintenance of accurate records on all transactions with customers, documenting any changes and ensuring Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy.
Other
- Lead cross-functional project meetings, ensuring projects remain on the agreed and communicated timelines
- Identify any possible issues or opportunities to improve efficiencies and minimize costs and facilitate problem resolution when issues arise.
- Support and manage execution of relevant plans to exploit the business opportunities.
- Secure all approvals and signoffs from customers, manage/coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
- Propose continuous process improvement capabilities and opportunities.
- Report out project status to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
Required Skills, Experience and Education Required
- Post-secondary education required
- Experience in product development within the cosmetics, personal care manufacturing, and/or consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing industry
- Minimum 3+ years’ project management experience (non-technical project management)
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
- Effective project management and time management skills
- Ability to drive and manage client and stakeholder expectations
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships with cross functional teams
- Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
- Resourceful and solutions oriented; demonstrated critical thinking
- Proficient with Stage Gate System
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation considered an asset
- A solid understanding of manufacturing processes in cosmetics or related industry
