Role and Responsibilities:
- Aid in ensuring all printed products flow from finishing to final packaging for shipment according to established due dates.
- Work closely with all internal departments to ensure that shipment timelines are met.
- Provide status updates to the direct supervisor and report any concerns/constraints that will delay goals and established due dates.
- Ensure that all workstations and production machines are kept clean, and consumables are replenished.
- Update our internal tracking system as tasks are completed
- Operate all production equipment in a safe and efficient manner, using personal protective equipment as specified and according to company policy.
- Perform quality assurance functions for all printed materials.
- Work with production software in an efficient manner.
- Complete projects within estimates and schedules.
- Other tasks as assigned.
**Cross Department Work:**Opportunity exists to learn other tasks across other departments to help with the peaks and valleys each department experiences throughout the year. You may experience training on various equipment or work in other departments.
Finishing
-Photo LaminatorOperating and maintaining*Laminating digital prints from our digital press. -Hot LaminatingOperating and maintaining*hot laminator, laminating digital prints from our digital press -Die CuttingOperating and maintaining*the punch card pro die cutting machine punching out laminated cards keeping them in stack order for distribution. Operating and maintaining the Rotec die cutter, to cut Fun Packs and other products. -CuttingOperating and maintaining*****the Tecnau and Challenge automatic and stack cutters. -Booklet MakingOperating and maintaining*the Borg and Duplo Booklet Makers. -Key tags and MagnetsPrinting key tags and magnets -Foil StampingUsing foil stamping machines to transfer foil to products such as photo mounts and vinyl folders.
Packaging
-Manual PackagingInvolves -Placing photos in envelopes or folders.
- Sorting and bundling products such as bookmarks and proofs for distribution
- Boxing orders with proper documentation.
- Shipping completed orders to clients using our integrated tracking system. -Processing MailSealing prepared orders to go to Canada post and processing manifests or the shipment. -Mounting and LaminatingOperating and maintaining a Seal Ultra 44 Laminator mainly used as a cold mount system for coating foam board and mounting inkjet prints to coated boards. -FramingAssembly of precut metal and'or wood frames and plexi glass -Packaging MachineFollow the information on the job ticket package the product according to requirements and procedures learnt in training for Packages or Groups.
Shipping/Receiving
- Providing support where needed. From material handling to shipping and receiving
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25-40 lbs on a regular basis.
- Must be able to stand for long periods regularly
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Good decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- A team player with the ability to work independently.
- Understanding of system workflow requirements.
- Ability to lift 35 - 40lbs on a regular basis.
- Must be able to stand for long periods regularly
Other Information:
- Walking distance to local transit and Appleby Go Station.
- Fast paced work environment.
Anticipated Hours of Work:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
