We are seeking a technical lead to drive development of future-oriented data ingestion capabilities on the Google Data Platform. As the Technical Lead, you’ll collaborate closely with data and network engineers, architects, senior stakeholders, and domain experts across all business lines and enterprise technology and security teams.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Lead and contribute to the architecture, and design of reusable ingestion capabilities, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions. Lead by example through hands-on engineering, including troubleshooting, and conducting code reviews. Foster and adopt best practices in software development and data engineering principles.
  • Oversee the reliable and scalable operation of reusable and/ or common ingestion capabilities and other Cloud native services, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to evolve capabilities. Drive proof-of-concepts and pilot innovations that can be industrialized at the Bank on a scale.
  • Ensure that reusable and/or common capabilities support enterprise data governance policies, including data protection, access management, and auditability, while minimizing operational risks.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Experience building data pipelines, and composable cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks)
  • Experience designing and operating Data Lakes, Data Mesh and Lakehouse architecture and understanding Medallion architecture
  • Experience with data engineering, ETL and ELT processes for data extraction and processing
  • Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, data engineering, microservices architecture and OLAP / OLTP source systems
  • Experience in creating detailed technical design documentations – both logical and physical view
  • Demonstrated team player with strong communication skills and a track record of successful delivery of product development.
  • Solid communication skills – ability to translate complex technical problems to business language
  • Experience in leading and driving technical discussions
  • Expert at problem solving and debugging
  • Experience working on continuous integrations and continuous deployment pipeline (CI/CD) and working with source control systems such as Github, Bitbucket, and Terraform
