Overview

Web-Based Knowledge Mobilization Specialist supports the dissemination of research findings through the design and development of professional research websites. Working independently under the general direction of the supervisor, the role plans and executes non-routine assignments of moderate complexity aligned with research objectives. The incumbent translates research outputs into accessible digital formats and provides technical guidance and mentorship to the supervisor to support the ongoing maintenance of research websites. The role also explores and applies digital tools and methodologies to enhance research communication and may collaborate with internal or external partners as required.

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan, design, and develop research-focused websites to support the professional dissemination of study findings and research outputs.
  • Translate research objectives, data, and findings into clear, accessible digital content aligned with knowledge mobilization best practices.
  • Execute non-routine technical assignments of varying complexity, exercising sound judgment in selecting appropriate web platforms, tools, and design approaches.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to the supervisor to support long-term maintenance and updating of research websites.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor and, as required, internal or external research partners to align digital dissemination activities with research goals.
  • Investigate and apply new digital tools, software, and methodologies to enhance research communication and knowledge mobilization efforts.
  • Support research reporting and dissemination activities by preparing digital materials and online presentations of research findings.
  • Document processes, workflows, and technical guidance related to website development and maintenance.
  • May provide technical guidance to students or junior team members involved in research communication or digital dissemination activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing websites to support the presentation and dissemination of research findings.
  • Ability to independently plan and execute non-routine assignments under the general direction of the supervisor.
  • Strong technical skills related to website development and digital presentation of information.
  • Ability to translate research objectives and findings into clear, professional digital formats.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to researchers.
