Job Information
As a School Wellness Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students' emotional, social, and mental well-being. Working closely with the school team, you¿ll help students develop healthy relationships, build confidence, and succeed in school. This role involves one-on-one and group mentoring, crisis support, and connecting families with community mental health resources.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide compassionate support and crisis intervention for students in distress.

Mentor students in developing coping strategies, self-regulation skills, and confidence.

Facilitate safe spaces for students and help create personalized wellness plans.

Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and mental health professionals.

Build connections between families and community mental health services.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Post-secondary education in social work, sociology, health, education, or special education and 1 year of relevant experience. Relevant experience means: Experience working in a school with inclusive education practices.

Strong understanding of mental health, trauma-informed practices, neurodiversity, and restorative approaches.

Excellent listening, communication, and relationship-building skills.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Experience supporting children or youth facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
