Job Information

As a School Wellness Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students' emotional, social, and mental well-being. Working closely with the school team, you¿ll help students develop healthy relationships, build confidence, and succeed in school. This role involves one-on-one and group mentoring, crisis support, and connecting families with community mental health resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate support and crisis intervention for students in distress.

  • Mentor students in developing coping strategies, self-regulation skills, and confidence.

  • Facilitate safe spaces for students and help create personalized wellness plans.

  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and mental health professionals.

  • Build connections between families and community mental health services.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in social work, sociology, health, education, or special education and 1 year of relevant experience. Relevant experience means: Experience working in a school with inclusive education practices.

  • Strong understanding of mental health, trauma-informed practices, neurodiversity, and restorative approaches.

  • Excellent listening, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Experience supporting children or youth facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
