Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturer in the heavy equipment industry, is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineering Manager to lead its Electrical Engineering and Controls Programming teams. What You'll Do As the Electrical & Controls Engineering Manager, you will provide both technical and people leadership while overseeing the design, development, and execution of electrical and controls systems for highly engineered industrial equipment. Key responsibilities include: Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Electrical Engineers and Controls Programmers. Overseeing electrical system architecture, PLC programming standards, HMI, robotics, SCADA, and industrial automation solutions. Driving engineering standards, quality, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborating closely with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Sales, and Project Management teams. Managing engineering resources, project priorities, and departmental workload to ensure successful project execution. Supporting technical reviews, customer meetings, and project scoping activities. Providing technical leadership in resolving complex engineering challenges during manufacturing, and field support.
What We're Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. P.Eng. designation (or eligibility) is considered an asset. 10+ years of electrical engineering experience within industrial machinery, automation, custom equipment, or manufacturing. 3–5 years of experience leading engineering teams. Strong expertise in: Industrial electrical systems PLC-controlled machinery Motion control and automation Control panels and power distribution Industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP) Machine safety standards and electrical codes Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical design platforms. Experience with custom-engineered capital equipment is considered a strong asset. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and engineering resources in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
