Please note this position is a 14-month contract position covering maternity leave. We are looking for a MLOps Team Lead to lead a team of specialized MLOps engineers and help ModiFace innovate and revolutionize the beauty industry. You will work with bright and insightful minds, passionate professionals, and a welcoming community where your creative ideas are exceedingly valued.
What You’ll Do As an MLOps Team Lead, you will be responsible for guiding and empowering a team of talented MLOps Engineers to build, deploy, and manage our cutting-edge Computer Vision and Generative AI systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead & Mentor: Directly manage a team ofMLOpsengineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and agile delivery
- Architecture & Deployment: Design and implement robust deployment pipelines (CI/CD/CT) for diverse model types, including real-time Computer Vision (YOLO) and large-scale Open-Source LLMs/VLMs (Llama,Stable Diffusion, Qwen, etc.)
- Tooling & Automation: Standardize the ML lifecycle to ensure reproducibility from experimentation to production
- Technical Vision & Roadmap: Contribute significantly to theMLOpstechnical roadmap, evaluatingnew technologiesand methodologies to continuously improve our ML infrastructure
- Effective Communication: Communicate complex technical and business concepts, as well as team progress and challenges, effectively to diverse audiences, including senior leadership
- Foster a Learning Culture: Actively foster a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and improvement within the team and across the broader engineering organization
What You’ll Need
- Experience: 5+ years ofprogressiveexperience inMLOps, Machine Learning Engineeringor related fields, with at least 1-2 years in a technical leadership or mentoring role.
- Deep Technical Stack:
- Expertisein Python programming languageand deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
- Strongproficiencyin Containerization(Docker)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Cloud build,Jenkins).
- Domain Expertise:
- Proventrack recordof deploying Computer Vision models in production environments.
- Practical experience with Open-Source LLMs/VLMs, including RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures and vector databases (Chroma, Pinecone).
- Engineering Rigor: Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control, unit testing, and API design
- Cloud Proficiency: Solid experience with cloud providers(particularly Google Cloud)and their specific ML offerings (e.g., Vertex AI).
- Problem-Solving: A proactive mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure bottlenecks andoptimizemodel inference performance.
- Communication: Ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable roadmaps and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders (Data Scientists, Product Managers, and IT)
Compensation At ModiFace, we believe compensation should be transparent, fair, and reflective of both experience and impact. The salary range for this role is $160.000 - 170.000 Compensation is determined based on skills, experience, and the scope and complexity of the role.
