We currently have a role as a Senior Business Analyst - Credit Risk with our large consulting client for a major banking services client in the downtown Montreal area. This role can either be a permanent role or a long term contract.
Role: Senior Business Analyst - Credit Risk
Type: Permanent 37.5 hrs/week Location: Hybrid - Downtown Montreal, QC -(roles starts off 5 days in office for 1st 3 months, then turns into hybrid setup 3 days onsite, 2 days from home) Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 + 9% bonus + 3-6 weeks paid vacation + RRSP contribution + benefits + sick/personal day + cell phone allowance + discounts for public transit and may other perks Contract: $80-$87/hr C2C
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide functional support to risk analysts and front officers on credit risk processes. Gather requirements from business partners and manage them according to the priorities defined by the Product Owner. Perform data analysis to support requirement gathering, solution definition, testing, and investigations. Communicate findings effectively to users and management to facilitate appropriate solutions. Collaborate with users and other Business Analysts to understand business needs and translate them into functional solutions. Write functional specifications and document system and process workflows. Ensure Agile and continuous delivery methodologies are followed. Ensure features are properly tested and all required artifacts are produced. Coordinate and execute testing phases across different environments and present results to users. Collaborate closely with teams located in the US, France, and India.
REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory University degree in a relevant field. At least one experience as a Business Analyst within a financial institution working with Credit Risk Comfortable acting as the main point of contact for business stakeholders and documenting business needs and priorities. Strong willingness to learn and contribute solutions and ideas. Curious mindset with the ability to understand business challenges and identify solutions. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to read and ideally perform minor updates to Python scripts. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback. Knowledge of Investment Banking. Strong technical documentation and structured business writing skills. Good working knowledge of SQL. Ability to write queries involving multiple table joins for data analysis and testing. Ability to read stored procedures during investigations. Experience with Power BI. Familiarity with data integration concepts including APIs, databases, ETL processes, and file-based integrations. Experience with Python scripting for automation, data manipulation, and troubleshooting. Ability to develop and maintain scripts that support business analysis and operational efficiency. Experience working in Unix/Linux environments, including command-line troubleshooting and script execution.
Bilingual (English and French) preferred
Nice to Have
Experience with credit risk and counterparty risk concepts. High-level understanding of capital markets products, including secured financing transactions and derivatives, or corporate lending. Knowledge of US and/or international financial regulations. Experience with ETL tools and processes.
