About the role

We are hiring a Quoting Specialist to join our Benefits by Design team!

The Quoting Specialist Will Support the Achievement of Client Success Outcomes

  • Ability to analyze and think outside the box to solve problems, making exceptions using standard guide
  • Anticipate, recommend and persuade competitive solutions based on full needs of clients
  • Accountable for prompt response (2-5 business days)
  • Accountable for accurate documentation
  • Strive for continuous improvement of all processes
  • Record thorough notes/special instructions in Summit during the quoting process
  • Adapt to changing needs of Partnership Development and advisors
  • Learn and understand BBD and partner products, upselling when appropriate
  • Use BBD and partner technology to support sales

Build and Sustain Relationships

  • Work with Directors, Partner Solutions TPA+ as part of the sales team
  • Build and maintain internal and external relationships, including Advisor relationships
  • Work collaboratively with all BBD departments
  • Maintain and encourage open lines of communication with both sales team and advisors

Passion for Customer Service

  • Provide friendly, professional approach in all forms of communication
  • Manage confidential information
  • Demonstrate commitment to BBD's values by consistently exceeding client expectations
  • Strive to meet or exceed new business goals
  • Demonstrate patience; manage difficult clients tactfully, courteously, and professionally

To be successful as a Quoting Specialist with BBD, you will need:

  • 1 to 2 years of related work experience (industry/professional office setting) in a sales-related function, an asset
  • Diploma in Business, or prior education including post-secondary courses in math Fundamentals in Group Benefits certificate
  • Good knowledge of insurance industry, insurance products (BBD & Carrier), business rules and applicable provincial and federal legislation requirements
  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening)
  • Ability to navigate new technologies
  • Good teamwork and collaboration abilities
  • Good multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Good conflict resolution skills
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Very good attention to detail
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office: Word, Excel, and databases

The base salary range for this position is $50,000 – $55,000 per annum. Details of the total compensation package will be shared during the interview process.
