Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Property Tax, the Property Tax Student is responsible for reviewing and remitting property taxes and assisting with customer-related requests. The position is also responsible for supporting daily tax operations, assisting with the reconciliation and remittance of municipal tax payments, updating internal records, and contribute to the overall accuracy and efficiency of our property tax servicing processes.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with reviewing, reconciling, and preparing property tax payment information for remittance to municipalities.
- Maintain accurate municipal profiles, including contact information, due dates, and payment methods.
- Support the review and analysis of tax accounts showing surplus or deficit balances and flag files that may require adjustments.
- Help monitor tax arrears listings and gather information to ensure accounts do not progress toward delinquency or tax sale status.
- Respond to routine client and internal inquiries related to property taxes (primarily email; occasional phone or voicemail), escalating complex issues as required.
- Provide excellent customer service while supporting Client Services, Finance, and Originations with tax‑related tasks.
- Prepare and update daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal stakeholders.
- Complete administrative and data entry tasks, including updating trackers, verifying documentation, and organizing digital records in a paperless environment.
- Assist in updating procedures, process documents, forms, and training materials to support continuous improvement.
- Follow established processes to ensure data accuracy and operational excellence.
- Promptly flag discrepancies, missing information, or unusual account activity to a Specialist for review.
- Adhere to organizational policies, including AML/ATF, internal procedures, and privacy requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degrees, Diplomas & Certifications:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Business, Finance, Accounting, Administration , or a related field.
Years and Range of Experience Required to Perform the Job:
- The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and exceptional organization and time management skills.
