Job Summary and Qualifications:

Definition:
The Student for Linac Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for performing the
early morning warm-up and pre-treatment physics quality assurance routines
on the linear accelerators.Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail with good oral and written communication skills.
- University background in Engineering or Science.
- Ability to perform accurate testing of linac operation.
- Ability to operate complex electronic equipment and PC-based hardware/software.
- Reliable, conscientious and available Monday to Friday during the morning hours (0630-0830 hours).
- Ability work in a team environment.
- Must successfully complete an in-house Radiation Safety Training Program.
Responsibilities:
- To power up linacs in the morning.
- To perform physics quality assurance routines for each machine, including radiation output measurements and films and document the results.
- To identify any tests not successfully completed and report them to the “early” Electronics Technologist.
- To leave the machines set up for Radiation Therapist’s QA and the day’s patient treatments.
