Who We Are Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), one of the nation’s leading conservation organizations, is a passionate community of people who believe that nature is the foundation of strong communities, a prosperous economy and a sustainable future that supports the hopes and dreams of the next generation. Together, we conserve and restore some of the most valuable and threatened landscapes on the planet.

What does our engineering team do? Our engineering team has delivered thousands of small dams across the country over the last 87 years. So much so that we now own over 6,000 water retaining structures responsible for the creation of over 1.2 million acres of wetland. This makes DUC the largest single dam owner in Canada in terms of sheer numbers.

The real strength of our talented group of highly qualified engineering professionals comes from their ability to function as a well-coordinated team that brings a combined wealth of diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives.

What will you do? DUC is looking for a confident, energetic and dedicated Senior Engineering Technologist to join our team.

As a Senior Engineering Technologist, you will be responsible for drafting and surveying earthen dams & water control structure projects, working towards the retention of essential wetlands on the landscape. You will also support the engineering team with dam safety inspections and documentation – activities that appeal to you because you love a balance of office work and field work. You will have the opportunity to travel to remote field sites for inspections of small dams and water control structures as part of DUC’s dam safety mandate.

About Ducks Unlimited Canada

Wetlands are one of the most important ecosystems on the planet. Unfortunately, up to 70 per cent of wetlands have been lost in settled areas of Canada. More are lost every day.

Wetlands do many important jobs for us. They help clean our water. They are home to hundreds of species of wildlife. They protect our communities from flooding and droughts. They store carbon, helping in the fight against climate change.

Since 1938, we have been working hard to save Canada’s wetlands. Backed by sound science, we have what it takes to make a real difference. It’s why we’re leading the way in wetland conservation.

We know what needs to be done. We know how to do it. Now, more than ever, we need your help.
