Job Posting Description: This is an onsite role Reporting to the Director, Strategy & Innovation, the Strategy Manager will help guide the success of LCBO's strategic plans. You will lead and conduct thorough research, analyzing complex qualitative and quantitative data, and creating compelling content to provide clear recommendations for enterprise-wide strategic decision-making. Your role as an expert will help foster a culture of analytical excellence and strategic thinking across the organization.

About The Role

  • Apply strategic and visionary thinking to identify and explain our challenges and opportunities, to guide the development and prioritization of projects and lead strategic decision-making at the executive level.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research, exploring industry trends, customer preferences, and global retail landscapes, to inform the development of the 3-year Strategic Plan and become an expert of the Canadian alcohol & beverage landscape.
  • Translate market insights into relevant recommendations through seamless integration of business cases and presentation materials.
  • Collaborate with Divisional Leaders to construct strategic roadmaps aligning with the annual Strategic Plan, ensuring the achievement of Divisional Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to evaluate both short- and long-term performance.
  • Strategy content development for C- level and the Board when needed; and support the broader rollout and communications of the corporate strategy to our organization.
  • Work closely with business leaders and partners across our B2C, B2B and Operational divisions and become a trusted, strategic advisor and collaborator.
  • Manage assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle, supplying leadership to project team members.
  • Identify business & portfolio inefficiencies and help improve or innovate new processes to help improve strategy for some of the most impactful areas of our business.
  • Develop strategies that are grounded, will deliver profitable growth, and create differentiation while remaining aligned with LCBO’s Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Support the coordination and facilitation of the enterprise-wide project intake process and portfolio/project governance framework to guide how the LCBO evaluates important projects across divisions.

About You

  • An undergraduate degree in a Business or related area; MBA is a strong asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in retail or beverage alcohol industry.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in consulting, corporate strategy or Finance role.
  • Experience engaging with diverse team members, including senior executives, cross-functional teams, and external partners. Strong discernment in presenting complex ideas and influencing decision-making processes.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating and supporting strategic, operational, and tactical projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to accomplish strategic plans.
  • Proven experience in project management.
  • Power BI, MicroStrategy and data visualization experience an asset.
  • Facilitation experience, including Design Thinking and Co-creation methodologies an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills including ability to effectively influence and engage stakeholders and resolve conflicts.
