Our team in Edmonton North is currently looking for a Warehouse Lead Hand - Receiving to become an integral part of the team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate warehouse staff of their specific area, assigning tasks and collaborating across all areas to ensure optimal performance.
  • Oversee warehouse functions, could include receiving, shipping, pick-up counter, and transfers as applicable.
  • Storing and organizing inventory to ensure safe and efficient utilization of space.
  • Ensure customer facing issues are a top priority and addressed promptly.
  • Assist with inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliation processes.
  • Reviews performance metrics and continuously works towards improving them.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Train new warehouse employees on proper procedures and safety protocols.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during daily operations.
  • Key contact for collaboration with other departments to optimize workflow such as procurement, accounting, and sales.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for 5S process improvement and implement best practices to optimize warehouse operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to sanitation and safety standards.
  • Address any issues or concerns raised by warehouse staff and escalate as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualification/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3-4 years of experience in a distribution warehouse setting.

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and shipping/receiving processes.

  • Great customer service skills necessary for an excellent customer experience.

  • Physically fit to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, stand, walk, bend, and remain on feet throughout shifts.

  • Experience with forklifts, or the ability to obtain forklift certification, would be considered an asset.

  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internal systems.

  • Competent in product scanning and inventory equipment operation.

  • Familiarity with labels, warnings, and directions per company policies.

  • Ability to obtain TDG and WHMIS certifications through internal training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Working remotely is not an option.
