The Laboratory Technician / Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for safely performing laboratory analyses and quality control activities to support product safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This role conducts chemical, sensory, and microbiological testing, ensures finished goods meet quality standards, and supports continuous improvement through non-conformance management, reporting, and collaboration across departments.

Must be willing to work biweekly shift rotation Mon-Fri: starting at either 5am, 7am, or 2:30pm

What this teammate will be responsible for -

  • Safely perform chemical analysis of wine, sensory evaluations, microbiological testing, and finished goods compliance checks in accordance with established procedures and standards.
  • Follow non-conformance procedures, initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and support quality audits, investigations, and corrective actions as directed by leadership.
  • Accurately complete data entry, maintain laboratory records, and provide timely reporting and communication of test results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemical waste in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate with teammates across all levels of the organization to promote safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with HACCP, GMP, and all applicable food safety and quality standards.
  • Perform additional laboratory and quality assurance duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The skills, experience and knowledge this teammate will bring -

  • Completion of at least two years of coursework toward a diploma or degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution, combined with relevant related experience.
  • Recent laboratory experience preferred.
  • Training or experience in chemistry, food analysis, quality control systems, and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Strong ability to work independently while actively supporting a culture centered on Health & Safety.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Reliable attendance and demonstrated flexibility to work all shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, as operationally required.
