Full-time

The Town is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Seasonal Labourer in Facilities and Properties to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of municipal buildings, sports fields, arenas, pools, and parks facilities. This position supports the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of all Town facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance of municipal facilities including pools, arenas, sports fields, and buildings.
  • Assist with routine custodial duties, including cleaning, and maintaining public washrooms in facilities.
  • Support maintenance of sports fields, parks infrastructure, and outdoor spaces.
  • Assist with minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment upkeep.
  • Operate maintenance equipment safely, including tractor, UTV, aerator, line painting and grooming equipment for sports fields, trimmers, and other grounds or facility-related tools.
  • Follow all safety protocols and Town policies while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Assist other teams as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance of pools, arenas, buildings, sports fields, or other municipal facilities.
  • Experience performing custodial duties and maintaining public washrooms is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform manual work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Valid Class G Driver’s Licence.

Working Conditions

  • Indoor and outdoor work, sometimes in varying weather conditions.
  • Early mornings, variable hours, and occasional weekends may be required.
  • Exposure to machinery, cleaning chemicals, and potentially wet or slippery surfaces.
