The Executive Director, Infrastructure Services is responsible for the short and long-term infrastructure requirements in Calgary Police Service (CPS). This includes management, operations, design, development, and construction of all CPS facilities. This position has the lead role for developing and implementing infrastructure solutions for CPS Business Plan initiatives. Additionally, the Executive Director is responsible for the management, operations and administration of CPS vehicles including procurement and disposal. Specific duties include:
- Provide strategic direction and executive management for the Infrastructure Services division by identifying trends impacting the division and CPS through establishing objectives, researching, monitoring performance, setting priorities, mitigating risk, and providing final approval of policies and procedures.
- Work with internal and external partners including CPS senior management, partner agencies, consulting and construction firms, Procurement, and Facilities to provide infrastructure for CPS.
- Provide strategic capital planning for over 1.5 million square feet of varied office space, including space distinctly unique to a police environment.
- Responsible for strategic planning and operational efficiency of the Fleet section which oversees more than 1200 vehicles for the Service.
- Coach, mentor, and support the management team and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, representing Divisional issues and deliverables across the entire service.
- Provide oversight and leadership in the strategic management of building safety systems and processes.
- Liaise with CPS Executive Leadership Team, Senior Leaders, external agencies, vendors, and the Calgary Police Commission.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in business, social sciences, public sector, or a related field and 10 years of experience and progressively more responsible leadership roles and deep understanding of nuances of public sector business.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Competencies for this position include leadership, strategy development and implementation, change management, communication, managing resources, planning and prioritizing/visionary, and relationship building.
Pre-employment Requirements
- An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.

Compensation: Level M4 $187,800 - 234,700 per annum
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
