Gartner’s High-Tech Research Group advises technology companies on the strategic business issues that help make them successful in their market. In this group, the Technology Buying Dynamics team works with a variety of executive client roles to share insights on the evolving buying dynamics and the implications on offering, marketing, and sales strategies. Analysts within the group ensure that our executive clients receive the best strategic business advice, support, and direction for their decision-making. They are responsible for innovative research content, timely delivery cadence, collaboration within and across teams, and high impact interactions with clients and prospects.

Research will mainly be targeted toward analyzing data from a variety of sources to develop insights about these buying centers to shape offering strategies. You’ll seek ideas that challenge conventional wisdom, shape new engagement strategies, and challenge traditional services approaches.
Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Senior Director serves as a leader within Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights sector, establishing oneself as a credible voice at local, regional and global levels. Utilizing exceptional research and analytical skills, a Senior Director plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative research which Gartner clients consume and apply to propel their business toward key objectives. They are a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day by engaging them via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and Gartner conferences to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations.
What you will do:

Applying buying insights to shape offering strategy and engagement approaches.

You will work with services organizations in North America, EMEA and across the world.

Specifically, you’ll work with executives and their teams responsible for digital business services practices as they seek to optimize their portfolios and sales efforts

Responsibilities for the position include:
- Create innovative, thought provoking, and highly leveraged “must-have research” content
- Creating materials for delivering face-to-face and video based presentations and discussions with clients.
- Ensuring integrity of our research and maintain Gartner independence

Work with both the immediate team and across Gartner to support research efforts, including:
- Providing high quality and timely peer review
- Collaborating to develop strong positions that drive engagement
- Contributing to the collective insight of high-tech analysts about your area of research coverage
- Exploring new data sources and primary research opportunities
What you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent industry experience.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in roles that supported the creation, sale, and/or delivery of digital business services
- Experience working not just with traditional IT buying centers, but also new buying centers responsible for critical business functions.
- Previous experience with offering leadership in a services firm, to include assessing client needs across a portfolio of offerings, developing an investment strategy, and/or measuring client impact
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and creativity
- Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders
- Stellar writing and presentation skills are prerequisites for this position.
- The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to work in a self-motivated manner but within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables
- Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges
- Strong communicator who is able to explain complex concepts concisely and simply
- Subject matter expert comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements
- Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team
- Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels
