Assistant Engineering Manager – Architectural Millwork
Mississauga, ON | On-site | $85,000–$105,000 We’re recruiting an Assistant Engineering Manager for an established custom architectural millwork manufacturer in Mississauga. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands how millwork is engineered, detailed, and built. You’ll guide an engineering and detailing team, manage workloads, review shop drawings, resolve production issues, and improve the processes used to move projects from design through manufacturing.
What You’ll Lead
Engineering workloads, schedules, and daily priorities. AutoCAD and Microvellum shop and production drawing packages. Drawing reviews for accuracy, constructability, and production readiness. AWMAC/AWI compliance, submittals, and engineering RFIs. Technical coordination between engineering, project management, and production. Department KPIs, workflow improvements, and quality control. Training, mentoring, onboarding, and performance development.
What You’ll Bring
(5) Five or more years in architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, commercial woodworking, or store fixtures. (5) Five or more years of millwork-focused AutoCAD experience. Previous leadership, supervisory, or team-management experience. Strong knowledge of cabinetry construction and millwork manufacturing. Experience reviewing detailed shop and production drawings. Working knowledge of AWMAC and/or AWI standards. Microvellum experience is a strong asset. This is not a general engineering-management position. Direct architectural millwork or commercial woodworking experience is required.
Salary: $85,000–$105,000
