Rail Pass Type: Internship/Co-op (Full-time/Hybrid)
Departure and Arrival Date (Start -End): May 2026 – August 2027 (16months)

Work hours/week: 40
Pay Details: $23-$30 CAD hourly

About This Opportunity Support Hardware Test Engineering in the documenting of simulators and automated hardware test equipment designs. The position also requires the maintenance, assembly and troubleshooting of simulators and automated test equipment.
Key Accountabilities
- Work closely with the design engineering team to document the designs and test procedures associated with simulators and automated hardware test equipment
- Take an active role in managing the process utilized to approve and release the documentation in a PLM system
- Work with Component Engineering to request part numbers for new components to be incorporated in the simulator and automated hardware tester design
- Work closely with engineering to support the upgrade, modification and assembly of simulators and automated hardware test systems
- Support the validation and debugging of simulators utilizing LabView and TestStand
Key Requirements
- The successful candidate should be working towards an Engineering degree (Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering Science, or Engineering Physics degree).
- Completion of the third year of an undergraduate program.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and familiarity with project‑based work environments.
- Knowledge of mechanical component specifications and engineering drawings.
- Experience with CAD software, such as AutoCAD (an asset).
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong conceptual thinking skills with the ability to understand the “big picture” and apply critical thinking to problem‑solving.
- High attention to detail and curiosity to understand activity criticality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Self‑starter with a proactive mindset.
- Able to work 40 hours per week for the full duration of the internship. During the first month, the intern is expected to be onsite five days per week. From the second month onward, 3–5 onsite days per week are required depending on team needs. Flexibility is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Co-op student available for a 16-month term, with at least one additional quarter or semester of coursework remaining after the completion of the internship.
- Previous co-op/internship experience is a plus.
