Job Description Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre (CRHCC), in Amherst, Nova Scotia, and Colchester East Hants Health Care Centre (CEHHC) in Truro, Nova Scotia is seeking locum Anesthesiologists to support their team. Opportunities are available at CRHCC, Amherst in: June July August September Opportunities are available at CEHHC, Truro in: August September Responsibilities work a full scope of practice as an anesthesiologist to provide care to the patients of Northern Zone surgical services covered at CRHHC include: general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, ENT special interest in intensive care and/or pain management would be assets surgical services covered at CEHHC include: general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, urology participating in call shifts the physician will be responsible to the Zone Department Head of Anesthesia for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice, and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority Expected Hours Includes day-time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage Locum physicians provide coverage for specialists. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,600 for specialists ($800 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions. Qualifications All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) All specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Additional Information Community Details Amherst Nestled in the heart of the Cumberland County, Amherst is located nearly on Nova Scotia’s border with New Brunswick, making it a getaway to both provinces.
