Position Overview:
Under the general direction of the Contract Support Supervisor, the Contract Support Analyst will be responsible for providing
contract and accounting support to the Construction Division. Main focus will be on complex procurement support and the
coordination and delegation of contractor invoices for the entire division which will require advanced knowledge of Excel, SAP and
Sharepoint.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the invoice management reporting as well as the daily management and triage of all invoices received by the
Construction Division.
- Prepare and/or conduct independent analysis of purchase orders, requisitions, change orders, and extra work orders. Verify
that the work and invoices fall within the scope of the corresponding work package, communicating updates and concerns to
stakeholders including being responsible for the 3BB procurement process.
- Prepare and reconcile complex contract progress statement payments as well as create templates for new contracts ensuring
compliance with terms and conditions of payment and tax calculation.
- Communicate regularly with internal and external customers regarding invoice discrepancies and other issues.
- Prepare and release Service Entries, Goods Receipts and Cheque Requisitions as required to facilitate payment of invoices
and progress statements.
- Provide service and guidance to the Construction Division, with regards to SAP, contracts, preparation and processing of
journal entries, adjustments and corrections to accounts as required.
- Provide support to Contract Support Lead in relation to Audit requests.
- Coordinate the aggregation of monthly accrual information as well as monitor accruals made to the actual invoice value.
- Provide onboarding to new staff to the division regarding the procurement and invoicing process.
- Recommends and initiates improvements to business unit processes and procedures as they relate to contract management
support and the procurement process.
- Develop ad hoc reports for specific information as requested.
- Maintain a thorough familiarity with the contractual obligations, tenders, and specifications of all contracts on the projects and
Manitoba Hydro's requirements and accounting procedures to be followed.
Qualifications:
- Certificate in Accounting plus four years directly related experience of which three must be in a construction project related
role;
OR
- Two year Diploma Majoring in Accounting plus three years directly related experience of which two must be in a construction
project related role;
OR

- Four year Degree Majoring in Accounting plus one year directly related experience of which must be in a construction project
related role.
- Work experience in a construction environment and general knowledge of contract management systems and principles is
required.
- Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of the SAP – MM and PS modules, possess advanced software skills in all Microsoft
applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced understanding of Manitoba Hydro's procurement policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize, investigate and analyze problems and opportunities and devise operative solutions for
complex work situations, including recommending changes to existing systems with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to organize high volume workflow under varying levels of activity and conditions.
- Ability to plan, organize and control activities of various concurrent work assignments within the area of responsibility.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships and
interact effectively with division staff at all levels.
- Experience in contract control including the preparation of progress statements and contract reporting with an aptitude for
accounting and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding knowledge of principles, techniques and procedures of accounting.
- Demonstrated team player exhibiting a high degree of positive morale and flexibility, as well as the ability to work with
minimum supervision.
- Ability to handle confidential data with security.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $31.94-$44.18 Hourly,
$61,202.96-$84,652.88 Annually.
