About Us

We facilitate the collaboration of individuals, groups and institutions representing the diversity of the community to pursue research questions and training opportunities to understand and prevent violence and abuse. We serve local, national and international communities by producing useful information and tools to assist in the daily work to prevent and stop violence towards women and children and vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

The Implementation Coordinator will support research and administrative activities within the Knowledge Hub, which connects trauma and violence-informed health promotion projects across Canada under the direction of the Project Manager. The role will work with a group of French and English-speaking Community of Practice (CoP) members and project leads to establish relationships, identify themes, issues, and challenges that can be shared with the larger research group. The relationships will be developed through regular meetings (online and in-person when possible). The Implementation Coordinator will work with researchers and project managers to co-develop and execute knowledge mobilization products, and will provide support for projects to identify sustainability outcomes and explore ways to document collective impact. The incumbent will work with team members to identify possible webinar speakers and other resource people. The role will also conduct literature reviews and synthesize scholarly research.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree required, Masters Degree in a relevant discipline preferred

Experience:

  • 1 year of research administration experience

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Ability to work across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own unit
  • Verbal communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
  • Written communication skills with an ability to complete detailed analytics and reports
  • Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
  • Attention to detail and proofreading abilities in English
  • Ability to foster collaboration and respect among team members
  • Interpersonal skills to liaise with Community of Practice members, staff, faculty and other members of the Western community
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to plan and manage events of various sizes, including large-scale event facilitation
  • Customer service skills with a desire to achieve results in a professional and timely manner
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to create a positive impression while interacting with others and responding to inquiries, by telephone, in person or electronically
  • Results-oriented with an ability to handle many tasks and maintain a high level of individual and team performance
