Position Purpose
The Regional Manager of Asset Protection Field is responsible for ensuring that Asset Protection programs are fully implemented and are being executed according to appropriate standards within the Region. Key responsibilities include analyzing and managing shrink performance, partnering with RVPs and District Managers to control shrink, monitoring theft and fraud investigations, conducting store walks, reviewing exception reports, and managing and developing the DAPMs (District Asset Protection Managers) within the Region. The incumbent is responsible for day to day and long range planning with other functions within Asset Protection; monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of Asset Protection programs; analyzing statistical trend reports, store visits and other information.

  • Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
    25% Hiring, training, evaluating, mentoring, motivating and disciplining DAPMs
  • 25% Manage, evaluate and follow-up on asset protection specific process through the DAPMs which include but are not limited to shrink, theft and fraud investigations, apprehensions, case management, exception reporting, P & L’s etc. Monitor and report out to business partners the field execution and compliance to Health and Safety, Environment, and processes. Work with district, region and functional partners to develop and implement training new programs and processes related to asset protection within the store environment.
  • 15% Follow up, accountability, and communication on all Asset Protection initiatives with store impact, including reviewing progress related to the timely execution of game plans; conducting store walks to monitor identified deficient areas; participating in and conducting staff meetings with business partners and direct reports.
  • 10% Review and analyze Region, and District shrink and theft & fraud performance; identify specific trends; utilize audit results to develop game plans to address deficiencies; monitor correspondence.
  • 5% Represent The Home Depot on industry boards, councils, task forces or associations; Stay up to date on any relevant changes to provincial and federal legislation; work with local Police forces to support any legal action taken on loss prevention cases.

Experience/Knowledge Required:

  • 5+ years in asset protection with responsibility for multiple sites
  • CPP, PCI, PSP and/or LPC certification preferred
  • Knowledge of the criminal code as it pertains to Canada
  • Computer literate with extensive software knowledge, including MS Office programs
  • Advanced problem solving and decision making skills
  • Effective presentation and communication skills, both verbally and in writing: required to work with and make presentations to all levels of management and hourly personnel, ministerial, government and regulatory personnel, industry associates.
  • 3-5 years’ experience managing a team
  • Business knowledge including operations and P&L

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel 20 – 30% of the time.
