Job Summary
The Technical Service Specialist I provides on-site technical support at customer facilities, ensuring optimal performance of fluid and process systems through routine testing, monitoring, and maintenance. The role works independently with minimal supervision, delivering accurate reporting, system optimization, and issue resolution to support operational uptime and customer satisfaction. This position requires frequent travel (approximately 75–100%) to customer sites to perform daily service activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Description
The Technical Service Specialist I is responsible for performing on-site testing, analysis, and maintenance of customer fluid systems to ensure quality, performance, and compliance with operational standards. The role collects and records process data, prepares routine reports, and maintains fluid and equipment conditions through top-ups, filtration, and preventive maintenance activities. This position identifies process improvements, supports cost-in-use reduction initiatives, and contributes to customer presentations highlighting savings and optimization opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting daily testing, monitoring, and documentation of fluid systems to maintain performance within specifications.
Performing preventive maintenance and system adjustments to ensure uptime targets are met.
Identifying, documenting, and implementing approved process improvements or savings initiatives.
Training customer personnel on standard operating procedures for proper product use and system management.
Supporting sales or technical surveys and assisting in developing proposals for system improvements.
Collaborating with internal teams and customer stakeholders to resolve issues within defined service levels.
Maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies while ensuring accurate recordkeeping and data integrity.
The role contributes directly to customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and delivery of measurable operational value at customer locations.
