About the role

Our partner, Bretoba Contracting, is currently seeking an experienced and operationally minded Warehouse & Fabrication Operations Lead to join their team in Ingonish, Nova Scotia. This is a full-time, permanent, year-round opportunity for a hands-on operations professional ready to take ownership of a central facility that keeps every construction project on track.

Bretoba Contracting is a foundation-to-finish construction company known for quality workmanship, collaborative leadership, and strong community values. As the company continues to grow into project management and development, its central facility plays a critical role in keeping projects moving — handling materials, prefabrication, and logistics for every job.

Overview

As Warehouse & Fabrication Operations Lead, you will be the operational backbone behind Bretoba's active construction projects. You'll oversee the warehouse, prefab shop, welding team, mechanics bay, and yard; manage materials from receiving through to site delivery; coordinate across functions; and lead a small, cross-functional team.

This role is ideal for a technically grounded operations leader who thrives in a hands-on environment, takes pride in building systems, and finds satisfaction in keeping things organized, moving, and built right. Candidates must be willing to relocate to the Ingonish, NS area.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations across the warehouse, fabrication shop, welding area, mechanics bay, and yard. Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient facility at all times. Oversee internal fuel station tracking and allocation to projects. Receive and verify all incoming project materials and manage organized storage. Track materials from arrival through to delivery and site use. Coordinate material deliveries to job sites based on the site supervisor’s needs. Maintain accurate inventory records using Airtable and evolving systems. Identify gaps and implement practical improvements to inventory tracking and material flow. Oversee prefab production, including mini homes and project components. Coordinate workflow between prefab, welding, and mechanic teams. Ensure quality, readiness, and timely delivery of all prefabricated components. Lead and support a cross-functional team across mechanics, welding, prefab, and yard operations. Provide hands-on guidance, mentorship, and clear expectations across all areas. Contribute to building practical systems that support scalable, structured operations as the company grows.

Qualifications & Experience

Strong technical background in construction, fabrication, or a related field. Proven ability to lead teams in a hands-on, fast-moving environment. Experience in a warehouse, shop, yard, or similar operational setting. High level of organization and personal accountability. Strong problem-solving skills in evolving, multi-priority environments. Valid driver's license required. Experience in prefab construction, welding, or mechanical operations is considered an asset. Inventory or logistics coordination experience is considered an asset. Experience building or improving operational systems is considered an asset.

What They Offer

Full-time, permanent, year-round position. 50 -- 55 hours per week. Competitive salary of $85,000 -- $110,000 annually, depending on experience. Initial housing support provided. Wellness program (after probationary period). Deferred profit-sharing plan (DPSP) after 6 months. The opportunity to grow within a close-knit, values-driven team doing meaningful work in one of Nova Scotia's most stunning regions.

JOIN THE TEAM
