FULL TIME TERM POSITION ENDING DECEMBER 2026
(With the possibility of an extension)
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Behaviour Support Coordinator will assist families, childcare providers and collateral services to support children in licensed child care centres, nursery schools and family childcare homes where children are presenting behavioral/social/emotional challenges.
Key Responsibilities:

Serves new clients by scheduling a visit to family child care home / child care centre and notifying parents and childcare centre

Observing children and provide a comprehensive assessment of the child and their environment.

Attends meetings as requested by the provincial government representative between parents, daycare representative and government to discuss action plans and provide recommendations

Develops and facilitates workshops as part of the Behaviour Support – daycare team
-
Respond to incoming intake inquiries, information and service requests
Key Qualifications:
-
Human Services Degree and ECElll with a minimum of 5 years of childcare experience.

An in-depth understanding of Manitoba Early Learning Best Practices and Regulations, parent relationships and child development.

An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Critical thinker - ability to view whole situation

Ability to build rapport quickly in a busy environment

Ability to build rapport with daycare workers and management

Demonstrated care about the wellbeing and happiness of preschool children and empathy. Must be realistic but strengths based in approach

Demonstrated interest in learning and continuously learning new skills

We are dedicated to strengthening families and building healthy supportive communities. We provide a variety of programs and services for more than Winnipeg 6,000 families each year.
Our services are available to all Winnipeggers regardless of social or economic circumstances. Most services are delivered in the community in client homes, schools, child care centres and subsidized housing communities.
